The Home Education Hub

Young Minders - The Home Education Hub is a community-focused charitable organisation dedicated to supporting and uplifting young people, aged 11 to 18, with a particular focus on those with autism and other Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Founded in 2019 as a grassroots initiative, our goal from the beginning has been to provide meaningful support to home-educated teens through weekly meetups that offer not only educational enrichment but also vital opportunities for social interaction, mental well-being, and personal developmentIn 2020, we faced a significant challenge when we lost our physical space, leading to a temporary pause in our activities. Recognizing the profound impact this had on the mental health and social well-being of the young people we served, we were determined to rebuild and sustain our services. In 2022, we began formalizing our efforts, and in December 2023, we were proud to achieve charitable status. This milestone has allowed us to re-engage with the community and resume our vital work, with an expanded focus on supporting both the educational and mental health needs of SEND youth. Led by a passionate team of three parents with Black heritage, each with over 20 years of home education experience, Young Minders is deeply rooted in the needs and values of the families we serve. Our mission is to provide accessible, no-cost educational, recreational, social, and mental health opportunities for SEND youth, ensuring they can develop the confidence, life skills, and emotional resilience needed to navigate life successfully. We are committed to expanding our reach and impact, understanding that mental well-being is as important as academic success. Together, we are building a brighter, healthier future for our community’s youth.
