Volunteering with Young Minders as a STEM tutor/coordinator has been an incredibly rewarding experience. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with children of all ages, creating and tailoring teaching plans to suit their needs, and making STEM subjects both exciting and accessible. This role has helped me develop essential skills, such as creating risk assessments, evaluation forms, and registration forms, as well as managing events like STEAM Day. This opportunity has opened doors to incredible experiences, including attending NHS networking events and learning about healthcare innovations. Coordinating and hosting the STEAM event was especially fulfilling, as it allowed me to interact with parents, inspire children, and further strengthen my organisational and communication skills. Through this role, I’ve gained valuable experience in planning, teamwork, and leadership, alongside cultivating a passion for making STEM education inclusive and engaging for young learners. It’s been a journey of growth, and I’m grateful for the chance to inspire the next generation while acquiring skills I hadn’t imagined."
